How Long are the Aligners Worn?
Since each person’s issue is different, there isn’t a set time to wear the aligners. However, in most cases, patients will wear Invisalign® aligners an average of 12 months. The more severe the misalignment of your teeth, the longer you will wear them. However, if you have a minor misalignment, then you may not need to wear them for a year.
After your treatment is complete with Invisalign®, our dentists at Dental Art Clinic in Cambridge will recommend getting a retainer to keep your teeth in place. The treatment with the aligners is permanent, but a retainer helps your teeth maintain their position and are usually worn for about a year.
